Originally known as Doncaster Finningley Airport, the new Robin Hood Airport is a modern structure of steel and glass built on two floors covering an area of 40,000 square feet.

The baggage handling and check- in desks are located on the ground floor. The passenger lounges, shops, bars and restaurants are on the first floor.

All road signs and advertising refer to it as Robin Hood Airport. Tickets and holiday brochures use the name Doncaster Sheffield Airport which is the name the airport is registered with IATA, this name will appear on tickets and on the arrivals and departure screens.
