Glasgow International Airport Glasgow International Airport is Scotland's principal air hub, offering flights to over 80 destinations (including direct trans-Atlantic services) and handling almost eight million passengers each year. Passenger facilities include wall-mounted information "kiosks", landside and airside ATMs and bureaux de change open for all international flights, baby change rooms, children's play areas, a left luggage facility (open 24-hours during summer), and a lost property service. Restaurants, cafés and bars can be found throughout the terminal before and after security. Shopping is concentrated on the first floor, with extensive duty-free available after security. The Glasgow Airport Business Centre offers meeting and conference rooms as well as an IT suite and secretarial support. Business workstations with phone, fax and internet facilities are located in the first floor. Facilities for disabled passengers include specially designed toilets, ramps and lifts, dedicated parking, induction loops, a minicom system, and low-level flight information screens. Further information is available from the airport information desk on the first floor, adjacent to the UK arrivals/departures area. Frequent train services operate between Paisley Station, two miles from the airport (bus and taxi connections), and Glasgow Central Station. Airport Express and Scottish Citylink provide direct bus links to central Glasgow. Taxis are available 24-hours from outside the terminal building. The airport is a 20-minute drive from the city centre via Junction 28 of the M8 motorway. Both short- and long-stay parking is available. |
