Newcastle Airport

Newcastle Airport is an important gateway to northeast England, handling over three million passengers a year and offering extensive flights across Europe as well as several trans-Atlantic services.

The airport's single terminal comes equipped with two bureaux de change, ATM's, baby change rooms, children's play area, video arcade, and a lost property / left luggage service. The airport information desk is located on the ground floor, together with a 24-hour tourist information service.

There's a food court both before and after security, along with several cafes and pubs. Several specialty stores are located in the main terminal while extensive duty-free can be enjoyed after security.

A business centre offers phone and fax facilities, while the Cheviot Executive Lounge, situated in the departure lounge, provides passengers with complimentary drinks and snacks along with phone, fax, and Internet facilities.

Facilities for disabled passengers include dedicated parking, an induction loop system, specially designed toilets, TDD telephones, ramps and extra-wide entry and exit points.

The Metro underground system is the most convenient way to get to and from the airport into Newcastle and Sunderland city centres, with the Airport Metro station located adjacent to the terminal building. Frequent bus services connect the airport with Eldon Square bus concourse in central Newcastle.

The airport is situated on the A696, which links up with the A1. Taxis are available outside the terminal building. Short- and long-term parking is available, the latter connected with the terminal by a 24-hour shuttle service.
