Antiqua

Antiqua is located at the heart of the Caribbean in the Leeward Islands, it is said to have a beach for every day of the week, with hundreds of sandy coves and bays lapped with turquoise shimmering sea.

With a fairly flat landscape dotted with the ruins of sugar mills from the colonial days.

All roads on the island lead to St John's the capital built around a natural deep water harbour, with parallel streets leading up to an open park in front of the Parliament Building.

In April Nelsons dock yard once, the home of the British Fleet, is the base for the largest regatta in the Caribbean, Antiqua Sailing Week, ranks among the top five in the world.

The capitals museum and twin towered cathedral are well worth a visit.

Antiqua's most famous landmark is English Harbour once the base for Admiral Horatio Nelson one of England's naval heroes and for dramatic scenery hard to beat is Devils Bridge a narrow piece of rock washed away by years of crashing surf.
