Jamaica
Jamaica discovered in 1494 by Columbus has everything we expect from a Caribbean island great beaches, sporting facilities, waterfalls, lush vegetation and a rich cultural tradition.
It is the third largest island lying just 90 miles off the coast of Cuba, a vast array of coffee estates, fertile land and white sandy beaches.
The Blue Mountains rise some 3000 feet and are a breathtaking sight .
A good place for wildlife watching is the hilly interior with its great variety of birds, mammals and reptiles including crocodiles and the rare iguanas.
Montego Bay has given it's name to a marine park and at the Blue Mountain and John Crow Mountain National Parks the original forest is being restored. |
