Ormond-by-the-Sea
This tiny beach town has plenty of room for visitors. The golden-sand beach is bound by grass-covered sea banks, and you'll have great luck fishing in the blue surf.
Ormond Beach
Beach driving is a tradition here, where the world land speed record was set on the mile-long beach years ago. You can still drive on this beach, but the atmosphere is more relaxed, and reading a good book in the sun is the perfect activity while at Ormond Beach.
Daytona Beach
Daytona Beach is famous for the miles of fun and excitement that line the beach. Vendors offer jet skiing, windsurfing and parasailing and an old-fashioned boardwalk and fishing pier complete the festive feel. The beach is up to 500 feet wide at low tide and is perfect for castle building, cycling, jogging, fishing or just relaxing in the sun. There are four pedestrian-only zones as well.
Wilber-by-the-Sea
Located south of Daytona Beach, this three-mile stretch of sand is closed to motor vehicles and is a popular Loggerhead turtle nesting area set in a quiet little beach town.
Ponce Inlet Park
In Ponce Inlet, visitors will find Florida's tallest lighthouse at Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse. The lighthouse stands 175 feet tall, which visitors are invited to climb to the top via 203 steps. Those who make the journey are rewarded with a panoramic view of the Ponce de Leon Inlet's north and south arteries and surrounding area. This park is popular for surfing, swimming and picnicking.
New Smyrna Beach
Consisting of 13.2 miles of beautiful white beach, New Smyrna begins at the Ponce Inlet and continues to Canaveral National Seashore. It is dubbed the "World's Safest Beach" thanks to its friendly waves and weak currents. The beach is open to vehicles from sunrise to sunset in certain areas, and quaint restaurants and shops line the nearby streets.
Canaveral National Seashore/Apollo Beach
Located approximately seven miles south of New Smyrna Beach, this beach is considered "out-of-the-way," and it only offers priceless views of a pristine Florida beach. Tours of the lagoons and nature trails are available. Be sure to bring any supplies you'll need for the day.
Playalinda Beach at Canaveral National Seashore
Set on the Canaveral National Seashore, Playalinda Beach is a secluded 40-mile stretch where sea and space meet. Located on federal land owned by NASA, this deserted beach attracts millions annually.
Jetty Park
The perfect spot to watch a shuttle launch, Jetty Park offers fishing, camping and surfing. General store on site.
Cherie Down Park
Preserving sand dunes and sea grasses, Cherie Down Park is a seven-acre community beach park in a neighborhood setting. It invites beach activities like volleyball and castle building and surf fishing. The park also boasts a 320-foot boardwalk along the dunes.
Cocoa Beach Pier
This stretch of beach is famous for surfing and sunning. Volleyball courts, body board and surfboard rentals, bicycles and more keep this beach teaming with excitement. The pier offers restaurants and shops.
Lori Wilson Park
Lori Wilson Park is a 32.43-acre regional beach park, just 3.2 miles south of SR 520, featuring a maritime hammock, a 1,000-foot boardwalk along the dunes, nature center, pavilion and playground.
Robert P. Murkshe Memorial Park
On the beach at 16th Street, this 2.5-acre beach park offers access to the ocean for surf fishing and relaxation.
Seagull Park
This two-acre neighborhood park is one mile south of the Pineda Causeway. It is landscaped with native plants and provides dune crossovers for beachgoers and surf fishing.
Hightower Park
Surfing and fishing are popular at Hightower Park, a quiet two-acre neighborhood beach park located four miles south of the SR 404-Pindeda Causeway.
Canova Beach Park
Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Canova Beach Park is a community gathering place with 12.4 acres of warm, soft sand and a xeriscape garden with native plants.
Paradise Beach Park
On the beach nearly two miles south of Eau Gallie Blvd., Paradise Beach Park is a great place for Frisbee, volleyball and body surfing.
Indialantic Boardwalk and Park
Indialantic's Boardwalk resides halfway between Sebastian Inlet and Cocoa Beach at the end of the SR 192. It is a popular surfing spot where many of today's professional surfers learned to ride the waves. Young and old come to watch, swim and feast of the pier's renowned pizza.
Spessard Holland North Beach Park
On the beach eight miles south of US Hwy 192, this 4.53-acre community beach park is a well-liked fishing site and a family-favorite picnic and day trip area.
Spessard Holland South Beach Park
Across from Spessard Holland Golf Course and three and a half miles south of U.S. Hwy. 192, this seven-acre community beach park with seasonal lifeguards is a popular family park with a 150-foot boardwalk and raised picnic areas.
Coconut Point Park
Located five miles south of U.S. 192, Coconut Point Park offers 36 acres of beachfront beauty, which includes sea turtle nesting site preserves. One of the two dune crossovers is wheelchair accessible.
Bonsteel Park
Known for great surfing and shoreline fishing, this peaceful two-acre community beach park is located 15 miles south of U.S. Hwy 192. Preserving the natural environment, facilities at this quiet south beach include a stabilized parking area and dune crossover.
Sebastian Inlet State Park
This park offers calm inlet swimming and some of the best surfing in the state on the ocean side of the park. Situated on the tips of two barrier islands, the park is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean on the east, the Indian River Lagoon to the west and the Sebastian Inlet flows between the two. It is a favorite spot for picnicking, swimming, surfing, fishing, shrimping, clamming, crabbing, boating, snorkeling, scuba diving, bird watching, camping and enjoying nature.
Sebastian Inlet State Park
This park offers calm inlet swimming and some of the best surfing in the state on the ocean side of the park. Wabasso Beach Park
Located Vero Beach around popular family resorts; this public park has wide, quiet beaches. It is an excellent swimming beach and good for surfcasting. Directions: East on Rt. 60 to US1, No. on US 1 to 10 or Wabasso Bridge. Go east over bridge through traffic light; beach will be directly in front of you.
Golden Sands Beach Park
Golden Sands is a traditional beach park with lifeguards, grills and picnic area, dressing facilities, restrooms and showers, and the bonus of offshore diving and snorkeling.
Jaycee Park
This 8.3-acre oceanfront park is great for family gatherings with play and climbing toys for kids, a restaurant, boat ramp, scenic boardwalk, large picnic area and buoyed swimming area. Directions: Across Barber Bridge, to A1A, turn left at light, go about half a mile and the park will be on right.
Humiston Beach
Located in the heart of Vero Beach's island shopping district, Humiston Park covers four acres. Throughout the year it is the center for arts and crafts shows and other festivals.
South Beach Park
One of the most popular sunning and swimming beaches, the park's soft sands are also a favorite for early morning and evening promenades. Scuba diving is also available offshore. Directions: Go over Indian River Lagoon on 17th St Bridge, park is straight ahead.
Tracking Station Park
Once used by NASA to track early launches, this beach is now a favorite place for surfing, snorkeling and scuba diving.
Bryn Mawr
Located two miles south of the north county line, here sits 300 feet of undeveloped beach.
Pepper Park
Pepper Park is best known for the 1700's Spanish wreck Urca de Lima that lays sunken in 10 - 15 feet of water, just 200 yards offshore. In addition to scuba diving and snorkeling, the park also offers tennis, basketball and volleyball courts, picnic areas and a boardwalk.
Fort Pierce Inlet State Park/North Jetty Park
Located on the north shore of Fort Pierce Inlet, this 340-acre park is a display of an oceanfront forest overlooking sand dunes and the blue Atlantic Ocean. Bike and nature trails, as well as camping are available here. The jetty is a prime fishing spot.
South Jetty Park and Pier
Located on the south side of the Fort Pierce Inlet at the end of Seaway Drive, this is a one and a half-acre ocean park with a 1,200-foot fishing pier, boardwalk, restrooms, picnic tables and pavilion.
South Beach Boardwalk
South Beach Boardwalk is a scenic boardwalk set at the top of large sand dunes from where you can see the ocean below. Raised picnic pavilions, bathrooms and showers are also available.
Surfside Park
Guarded summer months only, Surfside has a wooden boardwalk, bathrooms and showers, one large covered picnic area and a large grass play area with seven other covered picnic tables.
Exchange Park
Exchange Park is located two and a half miles south of Fort Pierce Inlet. Here you can enjoy one and a half acres of semi-developed beach, complete with tall, windswept dunes.
John Brooks Park
This small park opens up to an undisturbed and undeveloped stretch of sand. No lifeguards on duty.
Frederick Douglass Park
Guarded summer months only, this is a relaxing destination where you can go horseback riding on the untouched, natural beach. Other amenities include a volley ball court, picnic areas with grills, bathrooms and showers.
Blind Creek Park
Located on South Hutchinson Island, this 409-acre park overlooks Indian River Lagoon and the Atlantic. It is known for good fishing and is a popular wildlife viewing area.
Walton Rocks Beach
Unguarded and untouched, this beach showcases quiet shores perfect for fishing and picnics. Bathrooms and showers on site.
Waveland Beach
Guarded year round, Waveland Beach is a family spot with full beach amenities, including showers and picnic area.
Hutchinson Island
This beautiful barrier islands boasts 21 miles of pristine beaches. Public beaches lay along seven miles of this Atlantic coastal stretch, projecting an unspoiled, tropical tranquility. Fishing is also abundant, and several offshore shipwrecks provide diving opportunities. Directions: Take Okeechobee Road to U.S. 1. Go north to Seaway Drive for South Hutchinson Island or North Beach Causeway for North Hutchinson Island.
Jensen Beach
This beach is bustling with excitement. Locals and visitors alike flock to the sandy shores of this park on Hutchinson Island. Several picnic pavilions, as well as volleyball courts, bathrooms and showers make this a complete all-ages park.
Stuart Beach
A 250-foot boardwalk overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and golden sand beach. Volleyball and basketball courts are on site, as well as a playground and the Elliott Museum, which houses a collection of Americana dating back to 1750.
Fletcher Beach
Along an empty stretch of land you'll find pockets of sandy beach on an otherwise rocky shores. No lifeguards on duty, but a geological site.
Bathtub Reef Park
This is an undeveloped 1,300-foot beach with a shallow offshore reef that is good for snorkeling and diving. During low tide, inspect the tide pools of the rocky reef for sea life. Located on the west side of MacArthur Boulevard in Stuart.
St. Lucie Inlet State Preserve
Set on the north end of Jupiter Island, this 928-acre park has two and a half miles of remote beach, accessible only by boat. A boardwalk leads from docks to the shore. Inland you can explore the mangrove-lined creeks, or offshore, search the limestone reef for unique underwater life.
Blowing Rocks Preserve
Fishing, snorkeling and diving are popular along this beach on Jupiter Island because of its extensive rock formations on and off shore. No lifeguards on duty.
Hobe Sound National Wildlife Refuge
This pristine 967-acre park offers more than three miles of beach on Jupiter Island, which is one of the state's most popular turtle nesting beaches. On the mainland, preserved nature trails weave along the Intracoastal Waterway.
