Winter in France

Winter Sports.

For the winter sports enthusiast, France has much to offer with the largest linked Ski and Snow - board area in the world with more than 6000 ski trails for all levels of ability, spread across six mountain ranges; The Northern Alps, Southern Alps, Pyrenees, Massif Central, Jura and Vosages, and includes Mount Blanc Europe's tallest peak at 15,781 feet.

The majority of slopes are at high altitude and provide exhilarating runs, the variety is superb, Also with high altitudes there is glacier skiing giving good quality snow and a long season. The slopes are graded green, blue, red and black according to skill levels.

Many other types of winter sports are catered for from; downhill, cross - country and telemark skiing, snow boarding and snow blades most resorts offer on slope apres - ski such as skidoo and toboggan runs.

France also has some off piste opportunities but we strongly recommend the use of a qualified guide.

A combination of good food, fine wine, and excellent skiing on well groomed slopes with reliable snow records make France the ideal destination.
