The Hungarian Grand Prix offers Formula One racing within 20kms of the beautiful city of Budapest.
The long plateau of Castle Hill and many of the other sights of Budapest can be viewed on a leisurely cruise upon the mighty River Danube. Coffee houses abound, along with a thriving restaurant and bar scene – ranging from sophisticated dining venues to somewhat more colourful establishments.
For those in need of recuperation, a visit to Budapest’s thermal baths should do the trick. Or, for more serious relaxation, you can combine your visit to Budapest with a stay in one of our hotels on the tranquil waters of mainland Europe’s largest freshwater lake, Lake Balaton.
Known for its heat and slipperiness, staying on the track at the Hungaroring can be as much a challenge as winning the race. In 2003 a mixture of sound strategy and brilliant driving brought Alonso home, claiming an excellent win for Renault along with a place in the record books as the youngest ever winner of a Grand Prix.
