Paxos
Covered
with olive trees this little gem is uniquely for those who appreciate
tranquillity and a simple life, and with the exception of day
trippers from Corfu tourism on Paxos is still low key and unobtrusive.
Gaios,
Longos and Lakka are the main three villages. In Gaios the little
houses, a pretty main square by the water front , friendly tavernas
and bars reflect the quaintness of the island.
Further
up the coast, Longos is a typical Greek fishing village offering
good swimming and and excellent food.
At
the northern tip is Lakka very attractive with some watersports.
Boats depart frequently from Gaios to the sandy beaches of the
uninhabited tiny islets of Anti-Paxos as well as to Parga on
the mainland.
