Costa del Sol

The Costa del Sol.
Part of the Andalucian region, it is about as far south as you can go in Spain, with a stunning coastline it has become one of Europe's most famous and diverse holiday destination. Were many of the once small villages along the coast have become stylish resorts, like Malaga famous as a beach resort and the birth place of Pablo Picasso, and the sun sea and liberal resort of Torremolinos and the stylish jet-set resort of Marbella with it's exclusive Puerto Banus Marina.
Despite modern tourism the glorious Costa del Sol has retained its folklore, flamenco and the picturesque Pueblos Blancos or [white villages] the whitewashed villages of Andalucia are to day classified as historically important, and here the people still live the time honoured traditions, native to their Iberian, Roman and Moorish forefathers. The Costa Del Sol is the perfect destination for families, singles and couples, with a huge choose of things to do and see from touring the superb countryside and sightseeing to water sports and golf plus of course the fabulous beaches. Costa del Sol is possibly the best known of all the Spanish Costas. It stretches approximately from Estepona in the west to Nerja in the east. The Costa del Sol is an attractive stretch of coastline with many fishing villages and towns which have now become holiday resorts. Much of the coastline has high hills or mountains very close, creating some dramatic locations. The Costa del Sol's most famous port of call is the sizzling hot Puerto Deportivo Jose Banus with its jetset nightlife. Puerto Deportivo de Benalmadena is another lavish port, while Puerto Deportivo de Cabopino and Puerto Deportivo La Duquesa, both smaller, are also charming and idyllic.
