Ibiza
is the third largest of the Balearic islands with something
to offer every kind of holiday maker, where you can enjoy
as much night life as you want or as little making it
perfect for party people and families alike Ibiza has
them all. Along the shore line can be found plenty of
sandy secluded coves for the dedicated sun seekers too.
The
main resorts have beaches of soft sand and turquoise seas
offer plenty of safe swimming and a bonanza for watersports
enthusiasts. The sleepy villages and surrounding countryside
is relatively un- touched by tourism and a delight to
explore. Inland time seems to have stood still, the women
dressed in the traditional black herd their goats through
hills covered with olive groves that are still harvested
by hand in the time honoured way. Ibiza town's picturesque
old quarter and ancient fortress is a fascinating and
rewarding place to explore for souvenirs, and a look back
at the old ways of life, don't forget your cameras there
are some great photo opportunities.
For
sports fans the Fiestaland Sports Complex is a must, or
the Aguamar Water Park is a great fun day out for all
the family. If you like bargain hunting then the Hippy
Market is the place there are literally hundreds of hand
made craft items for sale from lace, pottery and leather
to name just a few.
A cheap and way to explore is by car, there's plenty of
reliable
car hire on the island.
Once
the sun has gone down the famous night life of Ibiza comes
into it's own with some of the best known clubs in Europe
staying open all night, it's truly a party - goers paradise.
But
if its a romantic evening for two or dinning with friends
you prefer there are many excellent restaurants, cafes
and tapas bars serving both international and traditional
cuisine choose from. The local beverage of Ibiza is called
Hierbas made from herb's and aniseed and served as an
after dinner liqueur and is a delicious end to any meal.
