LAS FIGUERETAS
IBIZA

 
Situated between Playa d'en Bossa and Ibiza Town, the suburb of Figueretas has a wide appeal, There are stylish bars and restaurants plus several cafes and bars offering something to suit all tastes and budgets. Along the promenaded mostly in the evenings you will find the local artists and charcaturist.
You will also see several plus small market stalls offering all kinds of trinkets and souvenirs. On the left of the promenade is the Calle Ramon Muntaner, it has a car park where you can stop to admire the panoramic view, there are also ice cream kiosks and bars near the car park.
The resort has a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere making it an ideal place to unwind. The central beach has good facilities, and is conveniently located for the apartment and hotels in the resort. The promenade is fringed with palm trees and extends towards Ibiza in one direction and Es Vive in the other.
BEACHES
Es Figueral Beach.
This beach has shallow waters and a beautiful sandy beach backed by rocky terrain. The hills and rough coast are popular walking areas (recommended for experienced walkers). The surrounding area is generally quiet, ideal if you want to get away from the crowds. Activities include pedaloes, windsurfing, water skiing, banana boat and diving. You can reach this beach either by car or bus, from San Carlos.
Talamanca Beach.
The long, sandy beach and shallow and water makes this beach ideal for families. There is not much shade here so its advisable to take plenty of sunscreen and cover-ups. Activities include pedaloes, windsurfing and a banana boat. You can get there either by car, bus, ferry (from Ibiza Town, marina) or by taking a stroll along the sea front past the Marina, its about 15 minutes walk.
Las Salinas Beach.
The beach has a crescent shape and is fringed by pine trees. On windy days there are often good waves for bodysurfing. In the surrounding countryside there are some good walks in the Ibiza Wildlife Conservation Area. During the summer months, Las Salinas is well known for its party scene. Activities include pedaloes, catamaran for hire, surfing and music bars. The near by salt fields have been in use for over 2000 years. As the water evaporates in the hot sun during the summer, a gleaming layer of pure salt is exposed on the bottom of the lakes. This area is also famous for its beautiful sunsets.
Sa Caleta Beach.
Near to Cala Gondola via an unmade road this gorgeous sandy beach has very shallow water, perfect for small children and non-swimmers. It can get crowded as it is also popular with local people at weekends. The beach was made by cutting through the rocks creating a beach with a dramatic and rugged coastline. Activities include relaxation and swimming. The only way to this beach is by car.

Es Cavallet Beach.
This is Ibiza's only official nudist's beach. This rough natural beach, has undulating sand dunes and wide sandy beach, surrounded by sand dunes, and a small strip of shaded hills. You get big breaking waves here if the east wind blows on shore, making it popular with wind surfers. The whole beach has a party atmosphere with disco-music and bars open all day. Activities include a volleyball net, surfing and music bars. You can get here by car, bicycle and bus from Ibiza Town (10 km) or Playa d'en Bossa (6 km).
Figueretas Beach.
The main central beach is divided into several smaller sections in front of the apartments and hotels. There is a nice palm fringed promenade extending as far as Ibiza Town on the left and Es Vive on the right. Activities include relaxing and swimming.
Playa d'en Bossa Beach.
The beach is the longest stretch on Ibiza, along its entire length you will find bars and cafés offering all kinds of refreshment. The water is very clear and shallow with a soft sand sea bed, making it popular for beach games. You won't find much shade, go prepared with plenty of sunscreen and cover-ups. When the wind blows from the south, the beach is popular with wind surfers, who like the bump and jump conditions caused by the choppy swell. The beach furthest from Ibiza Town is usually quieter, so if you are looking for the definitive Ibiza beach party, the middle section is where you will want to be. Activities include pedaloes, windsurfing, diving, parasailing, volleyball and swimming. You can reach this beach either by car, bicycle, or bus from Ibiza Town about 4 kms away
Cala Jondal Beach.
This is a conservation area of rare natural beauty overlooked by a few exclusive homes high up in the surrounding tree covered hills. The wide beach has some shade from the pine's trees. There is ample parking and mooring available. Activities include pedaloes, swimming and boats. The only way to this beach is by car or private boat.
THINGS TO DO AND SEE.
D'Alt Vila.
The old medieval district of Ciudad de Ibiza (Ibiza Town) gives a fascinating insight into the history of Ibiza. The town has narrow cobbled streets and pretty whitewashed houses. The Gothic architecture, built around courtyards are decked with geraniums and bougainvillaea. The old town, is enclosed by walls and is entered through the Puerta de las Tablas. The Archaeological Museum houses artefacts from prehistoric sites on the Balearic Islands, dating back to the Punic period between the 5th and 7th centuries BC. Also worth seeing is the cathedral with a 10th century Gothic tower and an 18th century Baroque nave.
Las Salinas Salt Lakes.
One of Ibiza's most fascinating landmarks, are the Las Salinas salt lakes. The salt fields have been in use for over 2000 years. As the water evaporates during the hot summer months, a gleaming layer of pure salt is left on the bottom of the lakes. The area is noted for its beautiful sunsets.
