PORT D'ES TORRENT
IBIZA

Close to San Antonio, Port d'es Torrent can be easily reached by car, taxi, bus, bicycle or on foot. The sandy beach is in a sheltered bay with facilities such as sunbeds, sunshades and a small car park. The beach is also convenient for a number of hotels, bars and restaurants.
BEACHES
The San Antonio Beach.
Below the promenade there is a wide stretch of fine, white sand with shallow water making it safe for children and non swimmers. The beach offers modern facilities and water sports. If you walk along the bay, you will find several other smaller sandy beaches, with water sports and places to buy refreshment. These small beaches can get crowded during the summer months. All these beaches are within a short walk of the town.
Cala Salada Beach.
The surrounding pine covered hills shelter this sandy cove, making it a favourite with residents and boat owners. On one of the out crops is a stone tower, from here you will see several trails leading to another little sandy beach. Popular as a walking area, you will find other trails leading into the unspoiled foothill of Ibiza.
Cala d'Hort Beach.
This is a small beach ideal for relaxing, with great views of the mysterious island of Es Vedra. The beach is sandy, and gets busy in the high season. There are several good bars and restaurants near by. The beach is also noted for its wonderful sunsets. The only way to get to this beach is by car from San José.

Cala Carbo Beach.
One of Ibiza's best kept secrets is the small sheltered bay of Cala Carbo, surrounded by rocky hills covered by pine trees, making this an idillic spot far from the hustle and bustle. The shallows near the beach are a mixture of course sand and pebbles. There are moorings for private boats and a small car park near the beach. The only way to reach this idillic spot is by car from San Antonio or San José, or private boat.
Cala Vadella Beach.
As you drive down through the pine covered hills surrounding the beach, you will have one of the finest views on the island. The large sandy beach gently shelves into the water, making it a good family beach. The bay is also a popular anchorage for private yachts and motor boats. Activities include pedaloes and diving. You can reach this beach either by car or bus from San Antonio or San Jose.
Cala Moli Beach.
This lovely beach near Cala Tarida, is surrounding by beautiful countryside ideal for walking holidays. The soft sand beach is the perfect spot to relax and unwind. Activities include pedaloes and swimming. The only access is by car from San Antonio or San José.
Cala Tarida Beach.
This is a popular family beach sheltered by a backdrop of hills dotted with houses. It is the longest and widest beach on this side of the island. The shallow water has a sandy sea bed for some distance out. The left side of the beach tends to be deeper and more rocky. The rocks are popular as sunbathing platforms. There is no shade so take cover ups and plenty of sun screen. Access to the beach is by ferry, bus or car from San Antonio or San José. Activities include pedaloes, diving and volleyball.
Conta Beach.
Here you will find two good sized sandy beaches, backed by rocky outcrops. The water is shallow close in shore and safe for children and non swimmers. There is a third beach that can only be reached by steps cut into the rocks (not recommended for the elderly, disabled or buggies). The beach has no shade, so go prepared with cover ups and plenty of sun screen. A climb to the top of the surrounding rocks will reward you with a beautiful view, especially the sunsets. Activities on the beach include swimming and pedaloes. You can reach the beach either by car, bus and ferry in the summer months. The ferry leaves regularly from San Antonio harbour and some of the hotels along the Bay.
Cala Bassa Beach.
This large beach is popular as a fishing beach, protected on both sides by rocky outcrops and surrounded by shady pine forests this is also a good walking area. The gently sloping beach and shallow water make this an ideal family beach. You can reach the beach either by car or by ferry during summer from San Antonio. Activities include pedaloes, banana boat, fishing and volleyball.
THINGS TO DO AND SEE.
The Caves at Ses Fontanelles.
The Fontanelles caves are famous for their Bronze age wall paintings. To reach the caves turn off the road before you reach the entrance to the bay, then turn right and drive up a dirt track (camino) when you reach the end of the track. From here you will have to park your car and continue on foot to the caves. After quite a long walk you come to the entrance of the caves, protected by iron bars, which means you can't see much of the cave paintings, but the views from the cliffs are incredible and more than worth the effort. For those that have enough energy left there are some enormous stone steps leading down to the sea, where you can bathe completely undisturbed. Take care.
Scenic Tour Train.
From San Antonio and Santa Eulalia, offering a family excursion lasting about 2 hours travelling through the beautiful countryside.
Tourist Train.
From Santa Eulalia, taking in the north of Ibiza that has some of the most picturesque landscapes in the Balearic Islands, see it from the comfort of the Tourist Train.
D'Alt Vila.
The old medieval district of Ciudad de Ibiza (Ibiza Town) gives a fascinating insight into the history of Ibiza. The town has narrow cobbled streets and pretty whitewashed houses. The Gothic architecture, built around courtyards are decked with geraniums and bougainvillaea. The old town, is enclosed by walls and is entered through the Puerta de las Tablas. The Archaeological Museum houses artefacts from prehistoric sites on the Balearic Islands, dating back to the Punic period between the 5th and 7th centuries BC. Also worth seeing is the cathedral with a 10th century Gothic tower and an 18th century Baroque nave.
Las Salinas Salt Lakes.
One of Ibiza's most fascinating landmarks, are the Las Salinas salt lakes. The salt fields have been in use for over 2000 years. As the water evaporates during the hot summer months, a gleaming layer of pure salt is left on the bottom of the lakes. The area is noted for its beautiful sunsets.
