The resort of Mesquida is on the remote peninsula of Mallorca's north-east coast. A holiday here centres around the fine sand beach which is ideal for children to play on. The sweeping sand dunes are part of a protected bird sanctuary, and a backdrop of elegant pine trees makes the area very picturesque. There are some watersports available, in addition to a golf course and a horseriding centre. Due to its small size and minimal tourist development there are just a few food and souvenir shops, restaurants and a limited choice of accommodation, although the busier resort of Cala Ratjada is just 5km away. Cala Mesquida is extremely peaceful place in which to take a holiday, and is best suited for nature-lovers and those wanting seclusion and tranquility away from the usual busy tourist resorts. Take a guided tour around the Caves of Arta by car or by bus from Cala Ratjada. |
